Examples of my digital storytelling projects

'Loving Logan - adapting to a new city'

- a community multicultural project for Logan Library Service and funded by Queensland State Library and in collaboration with MultiLink Services at Woodridge and SpeakOut
- published 9 different individual and community digital stories on the 'Loving Logan - adapting to a new city' DVD
- all the stories are about participants lives before migrating to Logan City and some of the adaptions that they made
- the adult participants volunteered from a range of different cultural background groups living in or around Logan
- all participants prepared a script, recorded a voice over and provided still photos and, sometimes, video
- some participants either helped create the digital story or created it themselves eg- Xao Thow 'My Portable Village'

- seven stories can be viewed on the Queensland Stories web site

'Stories, Music & Chermside Virtuolygies'

- a community youth project funded by Qld. State Libray and working with young users of the Brisbane City Council, Chermside Branch Library

- in a collaboration with SpeakOut the project used Sony Vegas for movie editing and Acid Studio for music creation
- all participants wrote their own scripts, recorded their voice overs, took photos and recorded video, edited the movies and created music
- resulting movies were published on a DVD and projected to a public launch audience
- the digital stories can be view on the Queensland Stories web site

'River Stories - Bunya to the Bay'

- in this project I was employed be Queensland State Library service to work with secondary students from across SE Qld who took part in the Bunya to Bay Expedition.

- we created scripts online on a Learning Place blog and then created digital stories with MovieMaker 2 in a 2 day workshop at South Bank

- further explanation of the project and links to the individual movies can be found at

West End Community Digital Storytelling Project
- seven participatory digital stories were published on DVD and projected at the public launch
- the collection provides a wide range of different sorts of digital stories including: life stories, a special person, family customs, childhood memories, sport, living in supported accommodation and social issues
- six of the stories can be viewed on the Queensland Stories web site

'Stories & Songs from the Inala Yarning Place'

- a community project funded by a Creative Sparks Grant (Brisbane city Council / Arts Queensland)
- in a collaboration with Getano Bann and Karen Tunny, we worked with the Inala Elders ATSIC and other invited cultural groups to share stories and create songs about Inala. This resulted in a community concert where the songs were performed and recorded.
- the DVD of stories, interviews and songs can be accessed from the Inala Elders ATSIC
